Well, as many know, I am a Linux fan. Really, considered to most, a newby. I started with Ubuntu 7.04 and since I have been amazed at the capabilities that Linux can provide. First of all, this site was designed on open source and linux based software....ENTIRELY. The only practical use I had for Windows in the development was to check what broke when I opened it in Internet Explorer. I am not saying that Windows does not have its usefullness, but I am saying that Ubuntu is a viable alternative. It takes less hardware to run it, most applications are free, and it can even run some(emphasis some) Windows software through Wine or 3rd Party applications. I am not saying it is for everyone, but you can download Ubuntu 8.04 and try it yourself. The installer will do all of the work for you and you do not have to change any of your drive settings. You can remove Ubuntu anytime you like through add/remove programs. Give it a try..... You might like it.
